This was an answer my younger brother said to me on our debate online. Well, it wasn't much of a debate, more of me spreading knowledge to my younger brother, Gabby.
He disapproves gay marriages like most people do. My brother goes to church and all that jazz. I'm just not sure if he knows how to think outside of the box. My rule of thumb is to question anything because we are humans and we are all WRONG.
It's like saying gay people are aliens and we should segregate them from the population. Does he not see this? I don't understand why is it hard for Christian Americans to see this. Do they not know that gay people go to church too? Do they not see that they look, breathe, bleed, like you and me? So why is it hard? It's because it's God's words. That lame answer. But I thought God loved everyone and we are all his children. There is a contradiction to this. If 2 people love each other and want to get married, it shouldn't be any different.
Don't jump the bandwagon because "God said so". Your preacher isn't God. He's just setting his views to a congregation. It's really all views. This is my view. I'm not saying it's right but I am just saying it's bogus to automatically come to a conclusion that gay people shouldn't get married. We are automatically dividing them by just that statement alone. I mean Hitler thought that the Aryan race was the "true" race and killed off all the Jews. He divided them. And not to burst your Christian bubble, it's slightly the same thing when you all divide homosexuals. Shit, people have even killed homosexuals because of their "religious" beliefs. Think about it. You might start to see what I'm talking about.
We are humans, gay or not and we have RIGHTS just as much as they do.
So don't give me a lame answer because "God said so."
Read and enlighten yourself. By doing so, always question. There is no REAL answers to everything.

I agree with you! One thing I never understood regarding God is Pre-determination. This is the belief that God has a plan for all of us...he pre determines every little move we make, every word we say...etc. So if being gay is "wrong" why did he pre determine anyone to be gay. I don't know....that never made sense to me.
very good point kim.
i must say that for a god who made us and loved us..why is there too many rules and regulations to the human species?
